Las Vegas

The most exciting and unpredictable 2v2 format in golf

What is Las Vegas?

Las Vegas is an extremely popular 2v2 team battle format. Its core appeal lies in the concept of **"digit pairing"** — scores are not added together, but rather each player's strokes are arranged and combined into a two-digit number. This means every missed shot can cause points to explode exponentially.

1. Core Logic: Digit Pairing

Normally, each team's score for a hole is formed by arranging members' strokes from low to high and combining them into a number.

Team A: Player 1 (4 strokes), Player 2 (5 strokes) -> Combined score: 45
Team B: Player 3 (5 strokes), Player 4 (6 strokes) -> Combined score: 56
Result: B 56 - A 45 = Team A wins 11 points

💡 REN GOLF Tip: The system automatically handles all the tedious digit pairing and subtraction for you.

2. Advanced Rule: Birdie Flip

This is the most thrilling part of Las Vegas. If a player on one team scores a **Birdie (one under par)** or better, while the opposing team does not, the opponent's combined score gets **"flipped"** (larger digit first).

Par: 4
Team A: Player 1 (3 strokes, Birdie!), Player 2 (5 strokes) -> Combined: 35
Team B: Player 3 (4 strokes), Player 4 (6 strokes) -> Originally 46, flipped to -> 64
Result: B 64 - A 35 = Team A wins 29 points (originally only 11)

3. Key Configuration: The 10-Stroke Rule

Blowup holes are common in golf. Under digit pairing logic, a 10-stroke score creates an awkward situation. REN GOLF supports the following configurations:

💡 REN GOLF Implementation: Our LasVegasLogic class precisely supports both toggle modes to ensure fair gameplay.

4. REN GOLF Exclusive: Multiplication Mode (Monte Carlo)

If digit pairing isn't exciting enough, the system supports switching the combination logic to "multiplication."

Team A: 4 strokes, 5 strokes -> Score: 20
Team B: 5 strokes, 6 strokes -> Score: 30
Result: Differential of 10 points

In multiplication mode, we've also added a **"penalty stroke"** mechanic. For example, a player who scores a Birdie can add 2–5 extra strokes to the opponent, converting technical skill into a massive point lead.

5. Grouping & Honors

The system automatically arranges tee-off order and grouping based on previous hole results. In Las Vegas mode, consistent driving performance is the cornerstone of victory. You can adjust teammate assignments at any time through the in-app "Group Management" feature.
